Keep this guy away from Riverview!!

He just bought a new boat and decided to take her for the maiden voyage.

This was his first boat and he wasn't quite sure of the exact standard operating procedures for launching it off a ramp.

He consulted his local boat dealer for advice. He was told, "Don't let the trailer get too deep when you are trying to launch the boat."

Well, he didn't know what they meant by that, as he could barely get the trailer in the water at all!

Anyhow, here's a picture below:

Last Report for 2009

Mike Pettry says the 3 ramaining guests are giving it their all, but have come up empty in the musky department. Pike and Walleye, though, have been caught in-between musky hunts, with Mike getting a fat waldo on a Shallow Invader.

Water temps are hovering around 56° and there's "no one else on the water". Ken Boyer counted 8 follows in two days, and after three consectutive follows off one particular hump, from what looked to be three different fish, he switched to a jig. On the… Continue

Last week for 2009

There's a total of three guests at the Lodge for the rest of the week and year, two of whom are Ken Boyer and Jim Jordan.

Ken hopes that yesterday was a good omen, as Saturday and Sunday were slow, with just a few pike caught. But, Monday resulted in Ken experiencing 4 separate follows on his Double Cowgirl. He says that one of the fish was a high 40's, possibly 50" fish. He said it came in hot, but before he could start a figure 8, the fish seemed to 'see the boat' and took off.… Continue

Last week of September

The biggest news out of camp this week is that Mike Pettry is now 19-3 in Lunge Lodge mini-bass tournaments. Mike 'smoked' Steve and Mark who brought in 4 barely-legal smallmouth. Mike also mentioned he raised a 40" musky yesterday, but as has been the case for most of the year for Mike, it boiled at boatside, but never actually hit the lure.

Bernie, Rich, and Kevin were in to pick up some motors and got a little fishing in as well. Kevin caught a 25" m… Continue

Reed Mardis lands one

Reed and Sam Mardis are runnin' and gunnin' up and down the river and got their first musky last night somewhere around Fisherman's Island. Reed boated a 36" fish which worked to stoke their fires and get them pumped for the rest of the week.

Mike Pettry mentioned that Burt Lappe, a former native of Minnesota, is hitting it hard but has yet to see a musky.

There's a total of 6 people in camp right now.
