29, beginning in 2000; 30th trip is scheduled for September 2016

My first time at the Lodge was in May of 2000.  Beginning in 2002, I started making two trips per year.  I missed out on the 2015 season due to shoulder surgery and all that did we cement in my mind how much I like the place!

Bass & Musky Season Opener

Posted on June 23, 2017 at 7:12am 1 Comment

Bob Soles and his friend Fern caught 'a lot' of bass and some smaller pike on topwater.

Dale Jenne's group did well on pike during their stay, with one member, Dan, catching a 38" musky on a #5 Mepps spinner.

Dan Geary's group from Cleveland had a slow week, but they did manage to catch a 40" musky!

Al Buccuti was in for a short stay, unfortunately, they had to leave early due to some family issues at home.

Tim Anhorn brought his wife and family, totaling 5, from…

It’s the first week of August

Manfred, with his son Eric, caught and released a 42” musky.

The Byers have departed following a good week of catching bass in various locations, as have the Maddens/Crofts.  Max posted a neat underwater video of his pike and Mike’s musky release.

Joe and Halane Vatter left camp and Joe made a nice appreciation post on the site upon his…

I arrived at Riverview around 1pm, got loaded up and over to the Lodge before two where I was met at the dock by Mike.  We exchanged hellos then got all my gear into the cabin I was assigned on my first several trips to Lunge Lodge, Jack Pine.  The new bathroom looks great with the knotty pine and fiberglass…

Week 1 nearly done...

Bernie and his guys have come and gone, providing Mike with some much appreciated assistance in getting the camp totally open and prepared for the incoming groups of fisherman scheduled to flow in throughout the season.

John Busgos’ Victoria Day Holiday ended yesterday, but he’ll be back again later in the summer.…

Hi Tony, we met u and Steve at Muskie Max in Feb. when we booked our two week stay, which was great. Ya, we're hooked on the place...stayed years at Wajashk, now have new friends on the "French"....alas, had to cancel the Sept trip/bright side= 3 wks next year!

We found the fishing on the upside this year, especially bass..did exceptionally well on smallies in Five Mile, the "big" mouths in Bob's and Marsh Bays..hope you are taking care of your shoulder...hope to see you in camp next summer.....

We are going to Lunge Lodge the 14-21 of June. We have been fishing in Canada for 26 years but this is our first trip to Lunge and the French River. We are Bass/Striper fishermen from Virginia and love to catch the Smalleys and Northern's up North. When are you going to be at the lodge? Are their any color/lure tips you have to offer up? Hoping the black flies have come and gone and looking forward to some good fishing!

I hope this email finds you and your family in good health and in good spirits. Good luck on your upcomming trip. Sounds like you better bring warm cloths. I hope you have a relaxing trip filled with many exciting stories. My daughter Natalie and I are heading up in July and I am back again with Nick in late August. Let me know when we can hook up and do some local fishing. Warm Regards, Jim

Hey Tony,  How has your winter been?  Ours has been pretty good.  Lots of snow for the river.  Sure hope you are coming out this spring.  Like to get the 4 0'clock coffee started.  When is the earliest date you have booked.  Can't wait to catch up with all of the great news.  I'm hoping to go out early this year.  Maybe the last week of April.  Anyway, talk to you soon.  Mary

Hey there,  'Foggy Morning'  is a poplar topic.  I would like to commend you on this picture.  What a great shot in the fog.  Approximately forty-eight days I will be saying Lunge Lodge.  Can't wait.  Going out early so I can get started on the cabins.  We really don't have any help until Mother's Day.  Even then it is only Melanie.  Emma not coming back because she decided to continue her schooling through the summer.  I thought she was already smart. Too bad, she was a real asset.  Oh well we still have Melanie.  Well I better get started on looking up new recipes in the cookbooks.  Need to super impress the new guests this year.  Meatloaf, not on the menu.  Mary
