The Lunge Lodge on the Upper French River

Tiffany and I have purchased Lunge Lodge!

After 18 years of being guests on the Upper French River, The love of the river has officially swept us off our feet! Tiffany and I are extremely excited to continue the tradition of this long standing and historic landmark on the Upper French River. We are fully committed to the constant upkeep, the hard work and dedication it takes to run a successful Lodge.

You, our guests are what is most important to us and the future of our Lodge. We would like to give a special thanks and a warm welcome back to all guests that have been returning to Lunge Lodge year after year.

In no particular order… The Talbert's group, the Grupps, The Merics, Virzi group, the Betcher’s, Frank Stapps group, the Bernhardts, the Pettry’s, Tony Petras and boys, Bill and Mark, Ken Boyer, Bob Clark, the Heino’s group, John B from Kitchener, Mike Weber, Jim Downton, The Madden group, the Vatter group, the Powers group, the Novanty’s, Steve Mcquire’s group, Marty Grasier group, The Biers, the Hammer group, the Joe Petras group, The Sara Sirkin group last but not least Big Bob and the boy's and many, many more. I’m sorry if I did not mention you or your group but I’m sure you know who are and that you’re greatly appreciated. It is groups like you, your loyalty to the Lodge and love of the river as to why Lunge Lodge has been in business since the 40’s. Some of you have even seen 2 or 3 different owners! Tiffany and I purchased this lodge with the intentions of owning and operating a family friendly fish camp that will always put our guests’ best interests at the top of the priority list. We will continue the long standing tradition of this great and historic Lodge.

We also would like to give an open arm invitation to past guests. Come back to revisit Lunge Lodge and restart that annual fishing trip that were enjoyed by many.

Tiffany and I are also very excited to tell all of you that Michael will be returning to the Lodge with us. Michael and his family have been coming to the lodge since 1976! His father’s first trip to the lodge was (I think) in 1974 shortly after returning from Vietnam. Joe has returned with his family and friends every year since. Michael has been the manager of the day to day activities full time for the past 9 seasons. Mike has been a huge asset to the Lodge for many years and having him aboard was very important to us. I personally would like to thank Mike for everything that he has done for us and the lodge. I must have asked him literally a million questions this off season and he doesn’t hesitate a second to help in any way he can.  Mike, Your greatly appreciated, not only from Tiffany and I but from all of our guests as well, Thank you!

Also, we would like to announce we are bringing in a new Camp Cook. Germaine Cartier, she is from Noelville Ontario. I met Germaine in 2002 when I was a guest at the now closed, Casa Blanca Lodge. She was the full time cook there for 3 seasons. After leaving there she ventured downstream to Crane’s Lochaven Wilderness Lodge and worked for only one season before leaving to take care of her mother. Since then she has worked a few other jobs until recently managing a little restaurant in her hometown of Noelville the past 3 years. Germaine and I have remained really good friends for 16 years. We would often spend multiple days exploring the french river area by ATV with her and spending nights with her and Guy on the lower french river at the flat rapids camp before we would go in to the Lodge and/or on our way out. Either way her door has always been open to Tiffany and I or whoever we would bring up. No matter what time of year it was, when we were in town, we stayed with her. She is the best and I will always consider her my mother from another country. We would often be sitting around a fire at her camp on the lower French and joke around about one day operating a lodge and her being the camp cook. Well, we’ll imagine no more my friend!!! Germaine, we sincerely welcome you aboard!!

With the 2018 season fast approaching, we have a lot of work to do. You will soon see changes and improvements on our websites. Good things are on the horizon and we look forward to the future. As soon as the Ice is off the river we will be on our way to start our first season. We're looking forward to seeing all of you this year and many more to come.

Thanks Everyone...... we'll see you on the River!!

Scott and Tiffany,

My wife - Beth - and I look forward to meeting you!  I co-own with my sister-in-law a cabin and island just up river from Lunge, just before you get to Lunge Rock.  Very good to hear that Mike will be back.  Most years we have dinner at Lunge on one of our evenings on the river...hope to do that again.  I have known all of the owners since Bert & Dot Flavell.  Congratulations on your purchase of historic Lunge Lodge.  I will stop by in August.   Mike Adams, Bloomington, Illinois (originally from West Lafayette, Indiana).
