The Lunge Lodge

The Lunge Lodge on the Upper French River

Well, we made it back from our fishing trip of a lifetime.  I don't think I can describe how great this year's trip to Lunge Lodge was but I will try.

First of all, the weather was unbelievable!  If there is anything close to being too hot, it was!  But having the cool comfort of jumping in the lake made it perfect.

The food that Germaine and Scott prepared was fantastic!  I unfortunately suffered a heart attack 3 months ago, so I have been on a strict diet since then, so I had to pass on some things..but Scott and Germaine went to the extra trouble of making sure I had some excellent choices to satisfy me.  The Salmon was great!!

As for the fishing....I will post pics later today....but we have never had a year like it!  While my 17 year old daughter didn't get her musky (she had a couple of exciting follows) she managed to wrestle that huge pike in (somewhere around 44" and 20+ lbs!).  She also landed a 10 lb Northern which after getting it into the boat described it as "'s just a small one!"   lol

As for my passion, walleye fishing, my boys and I thought our hotly contested Biggest Walleye Competition was pretty much over on day 2 when my daughter landed a 7 lb brute.  But thankfully, Dad couldn't let her take home all the accolades and I was able to land a 8.4 lb walleye later in the week to take the honours.  (My biggest Walleye ever!!!).

My sons landed many walleye and bass over the week as well....with my youngest son catching several bass over 3 lbs.

I can't say enough good things about Scott and Mike and the rest of the crew at Lunge Lodge.  This was a very emotional trip for me, considering my recent health challenge.   So thanks again for a Fishing Trip of a Lifetime!  Can't wait for next year (or maybe even again this year!!!  lol )
